The Purchase Area Development District (PADD) is seeking a qualified individual to provide Long Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman services in the eight county Purchase Area. Primary responsibilities include identifying, investigating, resolving, or attempting to resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, LTC residents; assure residents’ rights are upheld; promote community involvement in the program; facilitate an active volunteer program.
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in health or human services from an accredited college or university with 1. One year experience in health or human services or 2. The educational or experiential equivalent in the field of aging or physical disability. Candidates must have expertise in: 1. Long-term services; 2. Consumer-oriented public policy advocacy; 3. Leadership and program management skills; 4. Negotiation and problem solving skills.
Skills required include excellent verbal and written communication, initiative and self-direction, strong organizational skills, ability to relate to others, and knowledge of, or ability to master, computer software programs associated with the position.
Local travel within the district is frequent and occasional travel out of district is required.
