Turf Valley Resort is seeking for a line cook at our Member's Grill

Duties and Responsibilities:

FOOD PREPARATION

  • Read production sheets
  • Utilize HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points) forms and recipes
  • Portion control of recipes
  • Responsible for prepping all menu items
  • Gather food items, supplies and equipment necessary for prep work
  • Store and date foods appropriately, perishable and non-perishable

FOOD PRODUCTION

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with skills at all three stations
  • Cold food production
    • Salads
    • Sandwiches
  • Fry/Grill Production
    • Grilled meats and seafood
    • Fried food
    • Vegetables and starches
    • Griddled items
  • Sauté Production
    • Stove top cooking
    • Pasta dishes
    • Entrée dishes / Pan seared meats
    • Vegetables and starches
    • Vegetable sides and sauces

CLEANING

  • Maintaining and ensuring sanitation procedures
  • Maintaining safety usage of cleaning chemicals
  • Follow cleaning schedules created by Executive Chef

KNIFE SKILLS

  • Experience using kitchen knives
  • Experience using meat slicer
  • Store and sharpen knives appropriately

TEAMWORK RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as culinary team
  • Communicate effectively with team members
  • Assist team members as necessary

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AS NECESSARY

ADHERE TO TURF VALLEY RESORT & STATE LAWS

  • Adhere to Food Safety Procedures and Tips Procedures
  • Adhere to Alcohol & Drug Policies
  • Adhere to Smoking Laws
  • Adhere to Sexual Harassment Policy

Physical Demands:

  • Exposure to Hot and Cold Temperatures
  • Lift or Move an Excess of 100 Lbs. Using Carts
  • Bending and Lifting
  • Repetitive Hand Motions
  • Slippery Work Environment
  • Sharp Cutting Tools
  • Exposure to Cleaning Chemicals
  • Standing on Feet for 8 Hours
  • Hazards Include, but are Not Limited to: Cuts, Slipping, Tripping, Falls and Burns

Education and Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred
