Line Cook and Prep Cook Job at Calaroga Terrace Pacifica Senior Living

Come join and train with one of the highest decorated Chefs here in Portland at Pacificia Senior Living, Calaroga Terrace. Right next to the Moda Center at the tall 17 story high rise building.
We are currently looking to add dedicated and passionate cook who is all about preparing upscale fresh foods at a Senior Assisted and Independent living facility in downtown Portland, Oregon.
The job consist of cooking nutritious fresh made daily soups, breakfast, salads, veggies, fruits, sandwiches, roasts, seafood, pastas for guests, families, events and team members.
Daily/weekly Responsibilities:
Operate kitchen equipment safely as trained.
Keep area tidy and sanitized.
Properly store and date label all foods in your area.
Cook ala carte items as needed.
Prepare daily soups, salads, sandwiches, roasts, stews, fish and sauces.
Come to work looking like a professional every day.
Cook orders as assigned by the Kitchen staff and learn to work independently when fully trained.
Limited pastry of baking experience needed.
Experience needed:
Some kitchen experience at either a Hotel, restaurant, hospital, Catering company, Care facility or school food program.
Must be able to demonstrate proper cooking procedures, knife handling procedures and kitchen sanitation procedures.
Culinary school experience is preferred but not required.
Must be able to get along well with others working in a team environment.
Ability to keep calm in stressful conditions and professionally communicate with seniors
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
