Description

We are partnered with an FDA-licensed facility dedicated to the collection of human plasma from donors. Human plasma is used to make special medications to help treat and prevent infections in patients.

Under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Center Licensed Physician(s), the Nurse determines the acceptability of all first time donors and return applicant donors. The Nurse determines the suitability of donors by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) designed to ensure the donor meets suitability criteria in accordance with FDA guidance and regulations. The Nurse also reviews normal donor laboratory test and refers abnormal test to the Physician for review.

The Nurse works closely with the Medical Director or Licensed Center Physician(s) while making any decisions which directly impact donor suitability. The Nurse also provides medical oversight in screening, phlebotomy, and the plasma processing areas.

Qualifications

• Current RN, LPN, or Advanced EMT license in the state the Donor Center operates.
• Must be able to provide proof of graduation from a recognized educational program for health care workers that includes clinical training.
• Must have basic computer skills to include an understanding of word processing, spreadsheets and email.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strict adherence to current good manufacturing procedures.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interpret medical information to formulate appropriate actions.
• Available to work extended shifts and weekends.
• Occupational Exposure to blood borne pathogens.
• Ability to lift, pull, or tug up to 40lbs.
• Work requires extended periods of standing and bending.
• Ability to train others required.
• CPR certified or the ability to obtain certification.

** Must be available to work any days Sunday - Saturday**
