To maintain computers and related equipment to maximize the educational and administrative use of such equipment

To support users and their specific technology needs

Assists users in locating programs that make use of district software and the Internet to enhance learning
-
Prepares and maintains records of students participating in computerized instructional programs; this would include entry of the student’s and staff’s names and setting up classes
-
Assists in scheduling time for computer use and/or time for the computer lab
-
Installs district software on workstations; network installation of printers, drive mapping of programs and copy machines
-
Maintains an inventory of installed license software and all hardware in buildings (computers, scanners, printers, etc.)

Performs software updates and modifications including Windows updates and plug-in updates as directed by the district technology office
-
Maintains a record of staff and student passwords
-
May prepare requisitions for supplies and materials needed for the computer lab and maintains inventory of the same
-
Maintains technology equipment (computers, printers, projectors, telephones and other hardware) by performing minor repairs and routine preventative maintenance as needed (removal of cookies, disk scan, defrag, and updates)

Arranges for major technology repairs by following district technology work order procedures

Maintains a log of computer problems and repairs

Attends building/district technology meetings throughout the school year
-
Attends training classes and conferences as assigned

Provides assistance to teachers in the evaluation and selection of computer software and makes recommendations to principals when appropriate

Enters students and staff names on the main server

Provides in-service training for staff on the use of technology and software when needed or requested by the Technology Director and/or the Building Principal

Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information concerning students, families, and staff that is required of certified staff
-
Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Repair and maintain existing and new computers within the district.
-
Perform non-related job duties in an emergency.
