Legislative Analyst - Sustainability Job at US Venture
POSITION SUMMARY U.S. Venture is seeking a Legislative Analyst to serve as the organization’s go to source for the latest in federal legislative and regulatory activity related to the sustainability landscape. The analyst is self-directed, creative, and skilled at taking complex issues and data and translating them into clear, effective policy arguments and conclusions that are easy to communicate to decision makers and influencers. Expected to engage with a cross-functional team of internal and external stakeholders to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining a professional demeanor and flexibility as job demands require.
This role can work on-site in Green Bay, WI, hybrid or remote* within the US.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and assess the current legislative climate and assist with the identification of new and trending issues that will have an impact on the sustainability landscape
Suggest products, pivots and trends to positively impact the sustainability product growth
Share legislative insights in creation of enterprise sustainability roadmap
Build networks across the sectors, including industry and the investment community
Identify new business opportunities through legislative research, analysis and insights with presented recommendations to senior management
Establish and maintain productive relationships with key business leaders, strategic partners and industry influencers and key officials that can help advance our enterprise sustainability strategy
Assist in development of written policies and procedures associated with the development of U.S. Venture’s enterprise sustainability program.
Attend training and development opportunities to expand industry and regulatory knowledge base
Develop relationships with counterparts in the industry to stay abreast of relevant changes in the regulatory and compliance landscapes

Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Degree in Political Science or equivalent work experience
3+ years’ experience in political or public policy work
Strong knowledge of the legislative process
Exceptional organization skills as evidenced by the ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects
Ability to exercise independent judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to meet the above responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively develop and maintain cross-functional relationships and responsibilities, as well as those with third party consultants
Ability to proactively research federal, state and local compliance regulations and interpret for applicability to U.S. Venture

Degree in Political Science or equivalent work experience
3+ years’ experience in political or public policy work
