We are looking for an experienced programmer to lead the development of open world related gameplay features for HoYoverse’s next flagship product after Genshin Impact, such as believable individual and collective NPC behaviors, through close collaboration with designers and hands on implementations, as well as hiring and leading additional team members.

• Hands on experiences in owning at least one, and knowledge of a wide range of open world specific gameplay systems, preferably shipped in a well received AAA open world game.
• Having the insight & ability to pinpoint the root of complex problems and the habit of measuring twice and cutting once, to avoid wasted works and efforts.
• Outstanding communication skills, eager to collaborate and iterate with designers and other gameplay/engine/tools programmers.
• Internal customer-oriented mindset: provide intuitive and easy to use interfaces/tools to designers/scripters that hide unnecessary technical details and minimize repetitive/mechanical works on others.
• Systemic problem-solving skills: always have scalability/generality/emergent behaviors in mind and avoid hacks/one offs/scripted behaviors when not called for.
• Reliable and responsible: owning of a few things to the end instead of touching everything and owning nothing.
