The Lead Chef directs and oversees food service for patients, employees, and visitors in a healthcare environment. Develops, manages and maintains food service policies and procedures in accordance with administrative directives and professional standards. The lead chef develops menus and oversees the handling, preparation, and storage of food. Oversees equipment maintenance, record keeping and all sanitation activities. Manages the food and nutrition services staff. Works with the Dietitian to develop menus.
Lead Chef Duties and responsibilities
Completes a variety of creative, organizational and leadership tasks to ensure a kitchen runs optimally and meals are satisfactory. Their responsibilities frequently include:
· Other duties as assigned
· Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations
· Monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendors
· Hiring, training and supervising kitchen staff
· Assisting and directing kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating and delivery
· Identifying and introducing new culinary techniques
· Preparing meals and completing prep support as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
