The Lutheran Home is looking for hard working, compassionate people to join our team.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a dedicated laundry attendant to join our team! You will be responsible for performing services including, but not limited to, maintaining work areas and equipment in sanitary and safe working conditions, as well as performing tasks in an efficient, safe, sanitary, and secure manner. Laundry attendants must provide a supply of clean, disinfected linens at all times, as well as cleaning resident clothing.
Our Education, Experience, License & Certification Requirements:

• High school graduate or GED preferred
• Must be able to read and write

Typical tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Loading articles into washer or dryer.
• Starting washers/dryers, and programing machine.
• Removing items from washer or dryer.
• Sorting articles removed from dryers and folding or hanging them per procedure.
• Cleaning machine filters and keeping laundry area clean.
• Examining and sorting into barrels to be cleaned, according to color fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required.
• Receiving and marking articles for laundry with names, using hand or machine markers.
• Applying stain remover to spots to remove stains from fabrics.
• Placing clean items in mending cart to be sent for mending.
• Complying with safety procedures when handling chemicals, biohazards, and soiled laundry.
• Notifying the supervisor when supplies are running low.
• Being self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Serving as an advocate for all services and properties associated with The Lutheran Home.
• Assisting coworkers as needed to assure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a professional appearance, and being reliable, punctual, and demonstrating a cooperative manner towards resident/family and all members of the healthcare team.
• Inspecting areas for needed repairs or maintenance and reporting findings per policy.
• Delivering and storing clean linens and residents’ personal items.
• Ensuring a team culture that promotes a safe, fair, and cooperative environment.
• Completing any and all other duties as deemed necessary by the needs of the business.
