CONTRACT: 1 FTE

Job Description:

Lake Quinault School District is now accepting applications a 8-Hour Maintenance and Grounds Employee who will also teach 2-3 periods of CTE. This position is 260-days per year, 8 hours per day. Employee will be paid in accordance with current PSE/QEA pay scale for the positions. Employee will receive all benefits and rights under the PSE/QEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. The employer will determine work schedule.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Have or obtain a CDL license within 6 months is preferable.

Remodel areas in the building needing repair. This can include restrooms, classrooms, kitchens, weight room, etc.

Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities and special events.

Attends in service training or completes on-line training (e.g. blood born pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, maintenance training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures.

Inspects school facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying and completing necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc. as time allows.

Helps determine preventive maintenance and inspections that need to implemented on a scheduled basis.

Maintain grounds according to seasons. This includes, but not limited to, mowing, weeding, trimming, applications as needed of herbicides and insecticides, marking of the football field for games and outside maintenance of facilities.

Maintains supplies and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items required to properly maintain facilities.

Repairs furniture and equipment as maybe required (e.g. faucets, toilets, light fixtures, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition.

Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, injured and ill students, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues and maintaining a functioning educational environment.

Secures facilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and potential liability to the organization.

Other duties as assigned by Administration.
