Wildtype is on a mission to create the cleanest, most sustainable seafood on the planet, starting with sushi-grade salmon. We're pioneering cellular agriculture to protect wild species and our oceans, and to reverse trends of global food insecurity. Your work at Wildtype
- Support general lab responsibilities (e.g., sterilization, media preparation, preparing bioreactors, replenishing common reagents, washing glassware, sorting and stocking equipment, working with our R&D teams to anticipate materials needed for upcoming experiments)
- Ensure that lab supply stocks and cold-storage systems are available to support all R&D teams.
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture
- Work with our teams to maintain equipment and keep accurate records
What we'd like you to teach us
- At least 1 year of lab support experience
- A strong understanding of various lab equipment, consumables and their uses
- A great can-do attitude and an insatiable appetite for learning new things
What we'll teach you
- The unique context of our laboratory operations in support of cutting edge cell-cultivated seafood production
- General lab support techniques
Impact plan
- Within 1 month you will have independently contributed to our lab management support across our R&D teams, and familiarized yourself with our process.
- Within 3 months you will have made significant upgrades to our lab management practices. You will also have formed strong relationships with our scientists and team leads in order to understand their specific needs and forecast issues. You will have defined your professional development goals for the next 12 months.
- Within 6 months you'll be ready to operate independently, driving projects forward with minimal supervision. You can expect to periodically report progress on your projects to our entire team and will be assuming an increasing level of responsibility.
- Within 12 months you'll be working closely with our operations manager to continuously improve the efficiency of our lab operations.
The hiring range for this position is $29 - $34/hour, plus equity.
