What you will need:

• Must meet requirements for certification in childcare including a background in child development or child and family services.
• Knowledge of recreational and educational needs of children; good knowledge of individual and group behavior, and the ability to organize group recreational and educational activities.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in child development, education, or related field is preferred. Experience as a teacher and supervisor is preferred.
• A one-year commitment to the position is preferred.

What you will do:

• Implement day-to-day operations of the Kids Club program at designated site.
• Performs teaching duties on a daily basis, as assigned. Assists in planning field trips.
• Works with Site Supervisor in planning summer programs.
• Supervises and schedules on-site staff. Finds substitutes when necessary.
• Works five additional hours per week outside of program time to plan and complete administrative tasks. This time may fluctuate week to week depending on early outs and no school days.
• Directly supervises children in the Kids Club program and coordinates with community resources to provide recreational and educational activities for participants.
• Meets with Site Supervisor weekly for guidance.
• Handles the planning and implementation of activities for regular days and full program days of the Kids Club program which focus on meeting goals and objectives for each group.
• Greets parents with courtesy, fields questions and collects and records tuition payments.
• Helps create the menu, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
• Insures that children check in and check out of the Kids Club program and that only authorized parents/guardians pick up children.
• Assists in planning and providing all-day programming for full school-length days during the school year when the teachers have an in-service day.
• Administers assessments to participating children.
• Maintains good working relationships with school personnel, janitors, and parents.
• Records behavior and participation of each child in the program and helps to evaluate progress.
• Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Attends program staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintains site specific records.
• Maintain program quality standards.
• Understand and adhere to agency policies.
