Job Description
As our Junior Product Owner, you will help enable the on-going growth of a world leading safety management application to help Rolls-Royce and their customers reduce risk while also ensuring compliance with global safety standards. To achieve this we are building on our current Digital capability in Wellington, and that's why we're looking for innovative thinkers who understand end users as much as they understand how to analyse aviation industry safety processes.

You will work as part of a team that is developing ideas and concepts for our global customers into an industry leading risk and safety management solution.
Key Accountabilities:

Integral to your success will be the ability to take high level requirements, as defined by the Senior Product Owner of Safety or Risk, and work with the developers to create backlog items that ensure the goals and acceptance criteria of those high level requirements are met or exceeded.

You will demonstrate a strong collaboration with the Software Development Manager, Business Development Manager and other Product Owners (at all levels) in ensuring design considerations are embedded within the product and up-lifted consistently through user research and feedback.

Your primary accountability is to own the development of detailed requirements, including UX design, as required by the Senior Product Owner Safety or Risk, ensuring these are groomed by the developers in your assigned team.

You will also be involved as part of your development team with generating user documentation for completed features.

Working with the whole Product Owner Team, you will contribute to defining the priority of specific features and scope of releases, and ensure that measurement of success and user insights are incorporated through usage analytics, feedback and user research as required.
Qualifications:
-
Degree level education in Design, Computing, Mathematics, Scientific, or Engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience

Fully conversant with Product Managers/ Owners, Software Engineers and users to develop material that is usable, desirable and feasible.

An ability to interpret complex business requirements, translating them into material that can be understood by technical and non-technical end users.

Proactive, persistent and customer focused with a high level of self-motivation, initiative, and ability to be independent.

Skilled communicator, able to engage with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
