The Junior Data Analyst – Analytic Support position will serve as an operator for the data extraction needs of the Tricare Patient Experience Survey. Candidate should be a self-starter with intellectual flexibility, a collaborative work ethic, and strong technical skills. Applicants should be individuals comfortable working with large and complex data sets involving confidential healthcare information.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Operate data extraction and collation processes.
  • Utilize MHS systems to extract and analyze healthcare data.
  • Develop a keen awareness of DHA processes and data codebooks.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of DHA healthcare data variables and their definitions.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute code, procedures, and libraries.
  • Design, develop and maintain scripts and queries for data mapping and extraction tasks for multiple systems and platforms.
  • Perform data corrections through analyzing data for errors and formulating corrective procedures.
  • Work with other team members to efficiently troubleshoot issues related to data conversion.
  • Strong programming skills in SAS, Python, R, C-based languages, SPSS, STATA, or SQL.
  • Data analysis, including experience with quantitative analysis methods and techniques.
  • Must support team members conducting technical data extraction work.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services, Public Health, Health Management, Public Policy, Statistics, Social Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Client-focused work ethic and self-motivated individual.
  • Experience with data mining techniques.
  • Experience supporting operations teams.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required.


Work Location:
Work on site at the Defense Health offices to support the client.


Work Environment:
Work will be done in an office setting/environment and will need to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment. The person in this role will need to have the ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time and occasionally will need to move about inside an office environment. This position frequently communicates with other employees and external stakeholders. The person needs to have the ability to accurately exchange information in these settings.
