Job Position Description:
We are looking for a Training Specialist to enhance the competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training programs that will boost employees workplace performance in alliance with company’s core values. You will be responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing, and delivering curriculum and learning materials and for managing all phases of training interventions. This position is full-time, hourly and includes some second shift hours when necessary.

We are looking for a Training Specialist to enhance the competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training programs that will boost employees workplace performance in alliance with company’s core values. You will be responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing, and delivering curriculum and learning materials and for managing all phases of training interventions. This position is full-time, hourly and includes some second shift hours when necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement training programs for custodial staff
- Perform "On the Job" training - includes second shift hours
- Prepare the written custodial services manual.
- Develop and implement a custodial employee recognition program.
- Develop and implement a custodial disciplinary program.
- Evaluate the performance of assigned custodial personnel and assist in administering the proper procedures for progressive discipline as needed.
- Assist in the interview process for all custodial staff.
- Assist in the evaluation of the quality of custodial services delivered at each facility
- Monitoring custodial staff for compliance regarding “right to know” laws (Safety Data Sheets) and personal protective equipment (PEP).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Basic computer skills and word processing.
- Proper cleaning procedures, cleaning chemicals, and cleaning equipment.
- Professional Custodial training techniques.
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Manage assigned trainee and substitute custodian programs.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Implement successful training program.
- Set goals and standards and monitor compliance
- Train, supervise and evaluate personnel.
- Work independently with little direction.
- Plan and organize work.
- Read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Physical Demands and Qualifications:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 25 pounds
