Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified position of IT Application Development - Entry to join the Web Team in Communications and Marketing. This is an entry level full stack web applications developer position, charged with writing and maintaining accessible code necessary to conceptualize, design, test, and maintain web applications and websites for faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Conceptualize, design, write, test, implement, and maintain code for Clark College’s: Web Applications, CMS templates, MSSQL/MySQL tables/stored procedures/views, and Internal/external websites.
Build new web applications to solve needs of the college.- Work with client to determine need
- Conceptualize application and consider technology needed to complete
- Build flow charts and create UI
- Develop any SQL tables/stored procedures
- Make any needed adjustments to design
- Using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JS: Code completed design, test, and implement
- Research current standards and up-and-coming ideas for UI
- Conceptualize ideas and consider technology needed to complete ideas
- Start with content and build wireframes
- Build onto wireframes with new ideas and flush out any anomalies
- Make any needed adjustments to design
- Using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JS: Code completed design and test
- Separate code into sections and create PHP includes
- Create XLST templates in Content Management System
- Implement changes to website
- Keep up to date on web technologies and trends
- Foresee new trends and code for what may come
- Update code as functions become deprecated
- Attend trainings and seminars to keep skills sharp
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
Two-year degree in Application Development OR two (2) years of equivalent related work experience.- Two (2) years of experience with LAMP environment, MSSQL, HTML, JS, CSS, and Windows OS.
- Knowledge of XML, XLST, jQuery, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
- Vaccination requirement: Per Washington State Proclamation 21-14.1: college employees must be fully vaccinated. Your COVID-19 vaccine status must be validated by the Human Resources office prior to the commencement of work. - Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
- The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
- This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association.

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary Range: $5,911-$7,754/month | Step A-L (commensurate with qualifications and experience) | Range: 04IT | Code:
Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
