Inventory Team Lead Job at HRL Laboratories

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to lead a newly formed inventory control team. The individual will be responsible for leading a team focused on inventory, production and supply chain management of specialized hardware and devices. The individual will be responsible for setting up detailed work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for best practices within the Inventory Control Team. In addition, evaluation and qualification of new production and inventory software systems is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Lead team of technicians in the inventory control group- Manage team of direct reports. Be willing to train, coach and mentor staff with best practices in inventory control.
- Setup detailed Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Evaluate and qualify inventory/production management software
- Develop and manage supply chains, inventory, integration, validation and delivery of parts and assemblies, supporting full product lifecycles.
- Specify parts and materials for systems and assemblies and generate purchase requisitions and material requests.
- Develop continuous process improvements for new products and handling requirements.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience working in inventory control in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.- Experience with setting up and qualifying inventory management software.
- People management.
- Possess good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and comprehend engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, requirements, and process instructions.
- Use of Microsoft Office tools (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio), database entry and correction.
EDUCATION DESIRED:
BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field. Relevant work experience in lieu of a technical degree is acceptable.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required. Active security clearance at Secret / SBBI with full scope preferred.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
