Description:
Interpreter needed for our Early Childhood Programs in Story County. Will provide oral interpretation of discussions into English and Spanish, maintaining content, context and style as much as possible. Must have knowledge of the structure and content of English and Spanish, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. May perform duties in family homes, council meetings, or classrooms. This is a casual position – will work on an as-needed basis. Occasional evening work when interpreting at some home visits.
Requirements:- Demonstrated level of proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the English language and speaking the Spanish language in order to provide oral interpretation
Preferred:
- Previous interpreting/translating experience
- Demonstrated level of proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the English language and Spanish language in order to provide written translation
