Full-time, year-round position to assist in promoting and implementing the college's planning, assessment, research, and institutional effectiveness initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly assists all academic programs and administrative/support areas with the documentation and reporting of their planning and assessment activities; provides training and professional development opportunities designed to support planning and assessment initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains the college's planning, assessment, and strategic planning database/software (SPOL - Strategic Planning Online).
  • Develops and facilitates training on the use of SPOL; share innovative planning and assessment techniques with faculty and staff.
  • Documents procedures and develop training materials to assist all college units with planning and assessment processes.
  • Monitors the completion of division, department, and program assessment plans and works with plan managers to make improvements.
  • Serves as a point of contact for college-wide, division, and/or department/program specific statistical information; assists faculty and staff with securing data from college, state, and national reports.
  • Maintains the Institutional Effectiveness data/reports portal and communicates timely updates on the availability of new information to faculty and staff.
  • Develops user reports using Ellucian Banner.
  • Works cooperatively with all faculty and staff on the development of projects germane to planning and assessment processes.
  • Provides support on special planning and assessment initiatives and survey development.
  • Assists with the administration of college-wide student and employee surveys; organizes the administration of various assessment tools and assist with the analysis of data collected (e.g., CCSSE - Community College Survey of Student Engagement, and SENSE - Survey of Entering Student Engagement).
  • Assists in preparation of statistical and research reports as assigned with priority given to those requested by the Executive Director, Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Technology, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services, and Vice President for Administrative Services.
  • Serves on relevant college committees in addition to other duties.
  • Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
  • Acts in accordance with College policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:


Educational:
Bachelor's or higher degree required. Coursework or formal training in one or more of the following: database development, program evaluation/planning, descriptive statistics, data analysis, research methods, student learning assessment, and outcome assessment required.

Experiential: Demonstrated success in conducting workshops, training, and professional development activities required. Prior experience in an institution of higher education or K-12 setting preferred.

Other: Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required. Proficiency with data visualization software. Microsoft Office, particularly Access and Excel; ability to display data in multiple tabular and graphical formats required.
