As an Installer, you will complete installation of landline telephones and related work within both fiber optic and copper network deployments. This individual must demonstrate workplace behaviors which include accountability, adaptability, good communication, collaboration and initiative.

• Must be able to make all types of one-, two-, and three-line installations of landline telephones. Including plugs and jacks
• Use of an OTDR, Optical Power Meter, and Copper Test Equipment to localize line trouble, in both fiber optic and copper networks, and communicate repair when needed
• Pick up copper cable pairs and install terminal blocks or splice pairs through to drop as required
• Know both fiber optic and copper cable color code
• Splice and terminate fiber optic cable within ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and related FTTH/FTTX network equipment
• Follow guidelines of all grounding procedures related to scope of work performed
• Run tests to insure proper operation of installation
• Complete all required reports when job is completed to ensure the accuracy of plant records
• Observe and practice all safety rules
• Will travel and stay out of town occasionally (10% to 15% of time), when necessary.
• Work overtime when necessary

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• FTTX or FTTH certification preferred
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
• Must construction work experience or equivalent training
• At least two (2) years of general work experience within an industry-related field
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of basic DC and AC electrical theory and application
• Ability to sit, stoop, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet
• Must be able to work in a confined space
• Environmental exposure will include exposure to heat, cold, dust, wet areas, vibration and loud noises
• Must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions
• Must not be color blind

• The ability to use a computer to perform job-related duties in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and company related software applications
• Open to changing priorities and working under tight deadlines
• Able to read cable records when necessary, read staking sheets and be able to read diagrams
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
