St Mary Rehabilitation (SMR) is a growing physical therapy, rehab and wellness clinic with 3 locations serving Troy/Rochester, Sterling Hts., and Clinton Twp. areas. The sales manager will help sell and market our SMR services to referral sources in our market. This role builds and manages customer and clinician alliances with the ability to create, nurture, cultivate, manage and protect referral relationships within the local health care market. Much of the job will entail meeting with our existing network (no cold calls!) of doctors/lawyers/case managers and growing and developing relationships with them to ensure future referrals to us. You would also be in charge of setting up and administering lunches with doctors/lawyers/case managers to help drive new patient referrals and secure their relationships.
Another crucial aspect of the position is to have experience in negotiating skills. You will be tasked with contacting various insurance companies in en effort to negotiate a better deal between us and them to help drive revenue. As Sales Manager, you will also reach out and develop relationships with local schools as we are trying to get more athletes (football teams/cheer/gymnastics/etc) into our facilities.
Because we are growing, we are looking for a part-time (30+ hours) or full-time (40 hours) Sales Person to join our team of high-performance marketers and Physical Therapists! In this role, you’ll have one of THE most important roles in the organization as sales is truly the lifeblood of the business. You’ll be working to follow-up on the leads coming into our office to schedule appointments, field questions, follow up on inquiries and past patients, send out information packages/thank you letters and assist in maintaining the integrity of our company’s database with doctor information.
We are looking for someone who has a fun personality, is detail oriented, outgoing, creative, can multi-task and is proficient at prioritizing daily and weekly tasks.
You will have many tools at your disposal to help ensure your success---an established marketing campaign and coordinator, state of the art physical therapy equipment and even an inground pool at our Troy location!
Please ONLY apply if you have previously been successful in the role of phone sales prospecting and/or scheduling appointments as the primary outcome of your role is to secure at least 20 qualified new patient appointments per month. Preferably, this person will have at least one year’s experience in a successful inside sales position, setting appointments in a business-to-business or business-to-customer environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years prior sales experience ( health care sales experience preferred)
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related field (education, journalism, communications, etc.) or equivalent work experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities including visiting referral sources on a regular basis and following up on leads in a timely fashion
- Proven success developing referral relationships with key healthcare decision makers in settings that include hospital, nursing home, assisted living, and physician offices
- Experience in developing and maintaining new business relationships, customer service and conflict resolution experience within the health care sales arena
- Ability to teach, public speak and/or communicate effectively with individuals and/or groups
- Ability to track new referrals from Doctors using WebPT and excel spreadsheets.
- Computer skills using sales software, MS office suite and other applications
- Medical sales experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of physical therapy industry trends
- High degree of skill in human relations, teaching, and communications
- Ability to oversee production of written materials used for outreach
- Ability to communicate complex health care information to potential clients
- Reliable transportation with appropriate license and insurance coverage
- Ability to sell a 'service oriented business with an end of life philosophy' not a tangible product
- Ability to work as a telecommuter
- Ability to come up with unique ways to market programs
- Negotiation skills for negotiating with insurance companies better rates
- Experience in healthcare account management
- Need to develop strategic planning to increase referral sources
- Media Marketing Skills (dealing with social media/online accounts)
- Preferably Physical Therapy referral experience.
