SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY

Provide service to National Welders’ customers through counter sales. Assist in all areas of the operation in order to complete assignments at hand. Position reports to the appropriate manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES

Apply entry level knowledge of products, SAP or other business management system, selling and service skills to assist customers in the purchase of welding supplies, equipment and gases. Assist walk-in customers as well as customers who call in by phone. Create customer delivery tickets and handle basic inquiries in the computer to answer customers questions.

Strive to steadily increase product knowledge of the gases, welding supplies, equipment and their applications through personal initiative as well as through structured training programs.

Assist in merchandising the showroom and in the housekeeping needs that must be done to provide a pleasant, safe and productive sales environment.

Assist in the loading and unloading of the route trucks as needed.

Assist other district personnel in regular and scheduled district activities, such as physical inventories as needed or assigned.

Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

EDUCATION

Requires ability to read, write, perform basic math functions, and ability to learn and develop computer skills. Must be able to deal effectively with customers, and maintain a positive corporate image while serving customers. Equivalent to High School education.

Qualifications - Internal

LICENSES, CERTIFICATION OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 6 months to 3 years of experience in the industry with knowledge of welding supplies and equipment.

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS

General office conditions; occasional exposure to duties out of doors on loading dock; occasional exposure to outside weather conditions while making deliveries.

SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to deadlift up to 50lbs. using a hand truck or by rolling, must be able to regularly move 100lb cylinders off and on to a truck and occasionally must move containers weighing over 200lbs.
