Infection Control Preventionist /Clinical Supervisor Job at The Brook Hospital - Dupont
Responsibilities
The Brook Hospital Dupont is currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Supervisor/ Infection Control nurse to join our team. This is a full time, hourly position.
This position plans, develops, directs, implements, and evaluates infection prevention within the hospital. This position is supervised by the CNO and serves to instruct personnel in proper infection control procedure. This position will provide support for Nursing Administration in performance improvement, auditing, and direct care staff support. This position conducts rounds, discussing and monitoring infection control practices with staff; collects infection data from departments, maintaining records, trains staff on implementation of infection control practices; investigates incidents of infection and reports such incidents to the director of nursing; and ensures availability of supplies required for infection control.
In addition to Infection Control duties this person will also be an active member of nursing leadership. This includes but is not limited to: helping with the schedule, ordering supplies, working the floor and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred: BSN
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; currently registered with the Board of Nursing for the State of Kentucky; and two (2) years of Clinical experience in an acute hospital setting and/or demonstrates an understanding of the principles of epidemiology and infectious disease process in a hospital and demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities.
CIC certification
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Nursing experience providing direct patient care.
Preferred: One year inpatient behavioral health work experience and one year medical/surgical nursing experience.
