Basic Job Functions:

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and a wide range of HR support to our team members. The successful candidate must maintain confidentiality and integrity of the HR and payroll data. The role of the Human Resources Administrator includes but is not limited to: weekly processing of all payroll activities; preparation, filing, and reconciliation of quarterly/annual federal and state tax returns; month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing; preparing W2s; preparation and submission of weekly and monthly reports to Accounting; payroll bank reconciliation; assist in the administration of benefits including Medical, Life, Long Term Disability, Sick Leave and FMLA. The HR Administrator will also assist with recruitment and annual Affirmative Action Program reporting; maintain records and document retention; travel as requested for trainings/meetings; and other duties as assigned. Must be dependable and reliable and willing to work a flexible schedule when necessary..Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 1 year Human Resources and/or Payroll processing experience
  • No relatives employed at Nucor Steel Indiana due to payroll processing (per Nucor’s Personnel Policy 21).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP payroll, Success Factors, and other HR related systems experience
  • Payroll tax and financial reporting experience
  • Degree in HR or other business related discipline
