Human Resource Generalist/Human Resource Business Partner Job at Petmate
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for streamlining processes and problem solving in the HR department. Someone who will ensure that HR operates efficiently and smoothly as directed. In addition, HR Generalist will support leadership, management, general supervisors regarding HR matters and a few office tasks.
The ideal candidate will be proactive and have experience in handling a wide range of human resources tasks to support several facilities (Mansfield, TX/Lancaster, TX/Arlington, TX) across DFW metroplex and to our remote workforce. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, must have excellent attention to detail, is able to work independently with little or no supervision, and enjoys the challenges of supporting a company of diverse people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
HR Support:
- Oversees the day-to-day delivery of Human Resources projects, programs, and strategies (communication, on-boarding, talent management)
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, including health and dental, 401k, PTO, FMLA, and general employee personnel issues
- Act as liaison between employees for Payroll and Benefits if necessary to provide consultation and problem resolution
- Participate in administrative staff meetings
- Acting as a people’s person closely connected to all production floor activities.
- Supporting supervisors on all personnel-related issues (personnel, organization, performance, etc.) in compliance with the defined HR processes.
- Maintain HR email communication up to date, provide responses within 2-4 hours
- Investigate first level employee issues
- Support site operation leaders on performance issues and/or development needs
- Assist with managing the engagement survey. Create a brand for site and Petmate on our workplace and how to make things better
- Assist with communications, marketing material and branding material for both internal and external stakeholders
Talent Management:
- Conduct onboarding, new hire orientation, and assist department leaders in proper introduction of new members to organization including layout confirmation of training plans
- Assist supervisors with recruitment and interview process, including phone screens, posting job ads, scheduling applicants, sending application information, and gathering feedback
- Super user of ATS and talent management system and other Recruitment tools for HR organization. Work with HRIS to ensure system optimization, standard processes, and automation.
- Support Recruitment with external communications to outside networks, schools. Assist with ensuring jobs are posted on the board
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews, prepare data to make actionable recommendations
Training & Development:
- Assist in the coordination of staffing agencies partnership and tasks including all employee conversion items
- Create employee engagement plans, obtain budget approvals and initiate activities
- Administration of training records in the internal training system
- Provide site training to supervisors and leaders to build people skills required to lead our future growth.
Documentation:
- Review and update HR and employee related forms to ensure forms are current and compliant, and all company related entities are using current and consistent forms.
- Maintain compliance of documents and procedures in employee files including facilities access, unemployment process, plus systems, ATS, WFN, etc.
- Generate official internal documents such as offer letters, exit information, communication memos, etc.
- Maintain communication boards at each facility
- Assist with maintaining file system and files correspondence and other records.
Employees must be flexible in work hours available including overtime and be able to respond to varying workloads without prior notice. Report to work every day, on time, as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience in HR entry level position
- Must be able to provide training and give direction.
- Must be able to professionally communicate to supervisors and other team members.
- Experience working in a manufacturing/distribution environment is a plus
- PHR/SHRM-CP or similar certification is a required
- Fluent bilingual skills, strongly preferred (Spanish/Vietnamese)
