JOB TITLE: Hub Lav and Water Agent
United Ground Express (UGE), a subsidiary of United Airlines, supports airline customers and flights at many airports across the United States. The services we provide include customer check-in, baggage handling and servicing of the aircraft on the ground in preparation for the next flight. We assist customers from the moment they arrive at an airport through departure to their next destination. UGE is growing to expand to specific airports across the continental United States.

JOB SUMMARY:

Hub Lav and Water Agents provide support to UGE’s clients by performing a variety of ground handling services. Agents may provide services to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers aboard aircraft equipment, or within the station or terminal. Performs duties such as wash or otherwise clean aircraft and other machinery or equipment. Use such materials as water, cleaning agents, brushes, cloths, and hoses. Sweep, shovel, or vacuum loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and remove containers from aircraft and other work areas. Agents service the aircraft lavatories with a lavatory truck that is equipped with the necessary tools needed to dump, flush, and refill the aircraft lavatories. Agents will service aircraft by driving and operating the lav and water truck. Perform required security searches of aircraft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive and operate a lavatory truck, for purpose of servicing aircraft lavatories

• Drives and/or operates other ground support equipment

• Direct lift truck movement and positioning in the Airport

• Use personal protective equipment, including a face shield & hearing protection

• Ability to comprehend and execute defined safe universal precaution control procedures concerning handling blood-borne pathogens and other hazardous waste

• Use lavatory and sanitary water equipment to safety empty, flush and fill aircraft systems according to airline and regulatory requirements

• Follow all local environmental procedures in emptying waste trucks and fueling same in designated areas

• Complete Daily Equipment Checks and associated checklists, including security searches

• Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location

• Exceed UGE customer service and safety standards

• Carry out other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIREMENTS:

Work schedules will span a 24/7 operation including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Flexible work shifts will be assigned and can include late nights and early mornings.

Regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with United Ground Express’ policies are required. Overtime available/required depending upon operational need.

Must possess a safety mindset and a willingness to follow all standard operating procedures and report any safety related incidents

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. state driver's license (suspended, expired, revoked or denied licenses are not valid)

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship

• Must be able to clear a United Ground Express background check and a fingerprint-based criminal history check

*Must be eligible to obtain and maintain credentials necessary for the position. *Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal Service clearances

• Must be able to pass a pre-placement physical abilities test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen

• Must comply with United Ground Express’ Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Policy

• The ability to understand and communicate verbal and written instructions in English
