Due to our recent expansion, Sutton Transport’s HR Department is expanding. We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join the team. This person is responsible for providing HR support and customer service to employees as well as recruiting functions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:
· The HR Generalist is responsible for maintaining, tracking, and reviewing all new employment applications received on a daily basis. Urgency will be applied to contact eligible candidates for employment in a timely manner to ensure adequate staffing levels.
· The HR Generalist is responsible to ensure that all open positions are fully staffed efficiently and effectively with qualified persons with in their assigned territory
· Analyze the information provided on a prospective employee's application. Determine the suitability of the applicant for employment.
· Conduct regular follow-up with managers to ensure Selection Process is moving forward and staffing needs are identified.
· Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
· Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
· Promotes company brand through interactions with community services, colleges, State and county agencies; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; and maintaining rapport.
· Post openings in online venues, newspaper classifieds, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues.
· Utilize the internet for recruitment.
--Post positions to appropriate Internet sources.
--Research new ways of using the internet for recruitment.
--Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates
· Attend job fairs and hiring events
· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, licensing endorsements, continuing education, and work assessments.
· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected, reconciled and filed appropriately.
· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to employee engagement initiatives, performance and talent management, morale, training and development.
· Create and encourage a culture where employees thrive. Build internal and external relationships which support HR and organizational goals. Present new ideas and recommendations to drive our continued success.
· Manage HR communications related to events or updates as required.
· Participate in and attend onsite and offsite meetings, conferences, seminars, webinars, etc. to assure professional development
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Backup HR Admin on ADP maintenance/EE status changes

Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- A minimum one year of human resource generalist experience preferred.
- A minimum one year of recruiting experience preferred
