We are currently seeking our next
HR Generalist/Senior Generalist. This position reports to the site Human Resources Manager at our large manufacturing plant. The position is on-site; remote work arrangements are not available.
Job Summary:
The HR Generalist/Senior Generalist is a member of the Human Resources function and the plant HR team at our Livonia location (Farmington Road). The role will be responsible for HR services, including employee relations, training, labor relations, leave of absence, performance reviews, recruitment, benefits, time & attendance, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to...
- Act as resource for employee for questions and/or concerns.
- Administer HRIS transactions (hires, transfers, pay changes, performance reviews, terminations, etc.).
- Assist supervisors with interpretation and administration of Company policies and procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Provide coaching and support to supervisors for labor relations, including situations that require corrective action.
- Responsible for staffing activities including preparation of job postings, maintenance of requisitions, interviewing, offers and providing feedback to candidates.
- Conduct new hire orientation and manage the 30-60-90 day assimilation process for new hires.
- Participate on the site Safety team to contribute suggestions and assist with actions to sustain the safety-first culture.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage analysis or leaver data.
- Manage leave of absence processes (FMLA/ADA, disability, personal, etc.).
- Collaborate with the broader HR function on key HR initiatives, including employee engagement, merit planning, wage reviews, talent assessment, learning solutions, special projects, etc.
- Lead and/or participate on a team to complete special projects focused on continuous improvement within the HR function.

Education / Licenses / Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Labor & Industrial Relations required. May considered seven (7) years directly relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- Active SHRM-sponsored certifications highly desired.
- Minimum three (3) years relevant Human Resources experience, including experience in manufacturing union work environment. Prefer five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- Must be able to balance the role of employee advocate and management advisor.
- Must have excellent analytics, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Must have high degree of accuracy, integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have working knowledge of employment and labor laws, such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.
- Must have experience with HR systems, preferably Paycor.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Skilled in working with Google apps for Mail and Calendar.
