Astec Designs is a fast growing ecommerce startup that designs, markets, produces, and fulfills orders for various customizable silicone products, including Siligrams ice trays and May & Lou dog biscuit molds. These goods are produced in-house through a novel, technology-driven manufacturing process of our own design. After just two years in business, we have grown to over 30 employees, were recently featured on NBC’s Today Show, and have produced personalized products for the likes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Ebay, and the Atlanta Falcons. Job Overview:

The Culture and Resource Manager wears the hats of office administrator and human resources manager. Performs general administrative tasks, creates processes that drive effectiveness, guides and motivates personnel, and coordinates communication between departments. Key attributes for this role are high emotional intelligence, effective communication, and strong organizational and procedural discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with leadership and employees to ensure effective and scalable recruitment and retention practices are in place.
  • Assist managers in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for their departments
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to both employees and leadsership
  • Identify training needs and individual coaching and disciplinary needs and provide opportunities for professional development
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues as required
  • Maintain in-depth and up to date knowledge of legislation requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks
  • Advise managers and employees on employee relations issues
  • Find creative ways to support overall team morale and individual team members
  • Help leadrship nurture a positive company culture
  • Lead and organize company engagement activities
  • Run bimonthly payroll, administer benefits, and process reimbursements
  • Ensure all payroll records and personnel files are accurate and complete
  • Manage inventory and purchasing of supplies and equipment at the direction of department leads
  • Coordinate appointments, meetings, calendars, and schedules for leadership

  • Ability to develop and effectively apply guidelines, policies and practices for an engaging workplace that attracts and retains top talent
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s talent strategy needs, role requirements and qualifications, compensation practices
  • Deep knowledge and experience in effective recruitment practices
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent Spanish and / or Portuguese speaker is a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • SHRM certified professional preffered
  • CHRP and or CHRL preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MA state employment legislation and best practices in Human Resources Management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing employee relationships
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational design, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Inventory management experience is a plus

Work Environment: Employee works in an office environment; this position is not remote.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
