Housemen Job at Best Western Plus Pauls Valley
POSITION SUMMARY: The House Person is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas on the property. The House Person is also responsible for striping beds and collecting all dirty linens and towels, cleaning, drying and folding laundry and removing trash.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner, broom, and shampoo machine.
- Clean hallways, staircases and elevators.
- Wash walls and ceilings, move and arrange furniture, turns mattresses.
- Sweep, mops, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
- Collect soiled linen for laundering.
- Clean and fold laundry as needed.
- Bring items requested by guests to their rooms.
- Receive deliveries and keep storage rooms clean.
- Work with maintenance on painting, caulking, and minor guest room repairs
- Assist with grounds keeping and landscaping. No trash should be seen.
- Remove trash collected by room attendants.
- Always remember the 5/10/15 foot rule.
- Always wear appropriate uniform as prescribed by the company policy and maintain personal cleanliness.
- Maintain an active posture in total property operations and perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Perform other duties as designated by hotel management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to adapt to change quickly.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs.
- Appropriate level of customer service experience and skills.
- Proven ability to operate safely in the workplace.
- Effective communication skills with employees at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to organize, plan and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with good attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and understand when the Office Manager needs to be involved in decision making.
- Oral Comprehension – The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through verbal communication.
- Effective decision making – The ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and implement the best solution to solve problems or challenges.
- Self-motivated, with a dedication to keeping up to date professionally, and applying new knowledge to the job.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- 1-2 years or more office assistant experience, or the equivalent combination or education and on the job experience.
- Experience with computer, computer software (Microsoft Office applications) and other relevant forms of technology, including the use of email.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.
