PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS

Provides support to the room attendants, laundry attendants, and housekeeping supervisory staff in a timely and efficient manner. Reports maintenance deficiencies in order to maintain rooms/suite and public area standards. Assures that all assigned guest rooms and public areas of the hotel exceed brand standards for overall cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Cleaning and maintaining public areas of the hotel

· Disinfect surfaces, phone, door knobs, handles, etc.

· Rooms disinfection using proper protocols and tools

· Strips beds and collects soiled linens and trash from rooms

· Assist Room Attendants with general cleanliness of guest rooms/suites

· Vacuuming, shampooing of carpets in all guest corridors

· Cleaning, waxing of floors

· Thrash removal

· Stocking and maintaining supply rooms

· Other cleaning duties

· Moves and arranges furniture.

· Turns mattresses.

· Polishes metalwork.

· Collects soiled linens for laundering, and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.

· Stocks room attendant carts

· Cleans rooms, hallways, bathrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, linen closets, storage areas, and other work areas.

· Sweeps and scrubs floor.

· Washes walls, ceiling and woodwork.

· Washes windows, door panels, and mirrors.

· Empties wastebaskets, room attendant trash, and empties and cleans ash urns.

· Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

· Delivers ironing boards, baby cribs, rollaway beds and other guest requests to guest rooms.

· Cleans and removes debris from loading dock.

· Stores supplies as received.

· Assists in supply and linen inventories.

· Washes and polishes water glasses, then stocks in linen closet.

· Cleans parking lot and empties outside trash receptacles.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

This position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Exceed brand standards for friendliness and helpfulness to guests.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled.
  • Ability to physically be able to move large objects such as: carts, large bags of linen, ironing board.
  • Ability to physically be able to operate cleaning equipment such as: vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles
  • Ability to read and recognize room/suite numbers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form.
  • Ability to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to all aspects of suite.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.

Safety Requirements

Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. Team members are responsible to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School graduate diploma or equivalent preferred. 6 months to 1 year cleaning experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow team members.

GROOMING STANDARDS

Team Members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific guidelines will be explained during the orientation process.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50+ pounds. Job frequently requires standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping

The hospitality industry functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any team member may be required to work rotating shifts, overnight shifts, overtime and holidays. Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with LondonHouse rules, regulations, expectations and standards. All team members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
