The Los Angeles General Medical Center is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the United States and the primary teaching hospital for the Keck School of Medicine of USC. We care for a diverse, underserved patient population with a broad array of pathologies.

We are seeking hospitalists who are passionate about providing care in a safety-net environment, teaching the next generation of physicians, working in multidisciplinary teams, and innovating new ways of delivery value-driven care.

AHospitalists at LAGMC staff inpatient internal medicine teaching teams, a medicine consultation service, and a bedside procedure service. Additionally, we participate in a variety of healthcare delivery improvement initiatives and oversight of resource utilization review and management. LAGMC hospitalists have access to procedure and ultrasound skills training, formal quality improvement training, dedicated mentorship, and career development opportunities.

We are seeking applicants who love providing value-conscious, culturally-sensitive care to a diverse and underserved patient population; have a passion for medical education, and a strong interest in transforming healthcare systems through improvement initiatives.Specific roles and responsibilities include:•Supervise and provide education to internal medicine residents and Keck School of Medicine students in the care of adult inpatients.

• Supervise and provide education to internal medicine residents in the completion of bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture).
• Serve as Utilization Management Physician Assistant in the daily review of the allocation of medical center resources and engage providers in review of medical center resource utilization.
• Actively participate in quality and patient safety improvement training and initiatives.

Candidates must have an MD or DO degree or equivalent, have completed an AGCME-accredited residency program, and have an active California Medical License.
