JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our growing team! We are looking for someone who has previous experience in grounds maintenance and is able to lift heavy loads. The Grounds Maintenance Specialist will assist in all operations of the Grounds Department.

Pay Range

$18.00 - 21.00 per hour DOE

Responsibilities

• Assist in all operations of the Grounds Department including maintaining of all lawns, trees, gardens, shrubbery, plants, ponds and fountains
• Maintains all parking areas
• Installs and maintains exterior signs
• Able to use and maintain all associated equipment and machinery
• Exterior trash removal
• Replaces exterior and parking deck lights
• Assists Maintenance team as needed
• Plants, cultivates, fertilizes, waters, sprays, and propagates plants, shrubs, trees, hedges, ground covers, and flowers; seeds or sods new lawns;
• Fertilizes, maintains, and waters lawns;
• Rakes, hoes, weeds, and performs general grounds maintenance and laboring tasks;
• Spades and fertilizes flower beds and sets out plants;
• Aids in keeping the grounds of the Granlibakken Resort clean, orderly, and free of pests, insects, diseases, and fungi;
• Trims and prunes hedges, trees, shrubs, and stakes trees.
• Maintains hand and power tools and equipment and keeps in good repair;
• Assists in the repair, maintenance, and installation of irrigation systems;
• Operates mowing equipment and other related equipment; and drives trucks and other essential vehicles.
• Perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in ground and garden maintenance;
• Read and interpret pesticide labels, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and blue print schematics;
• Apply pesticides in accordance with the label instructions;
• Power wash/replace siding/paint buildings at Granlibakken;
• Snow removal
• Work cooperatively with others;
• Deal courteously and tactfully with Granlibakken Homeowners, patrons, and guests;
• Make quick decisions in emergencies; demonstrate dependability and good judgment; maintain a clean working area;
• Exemplify an enthusiastic, resourceful, and effective customer attitude with those contacted in the course of work;
• Other duties as requested by supervisor

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Landscaping experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in grounds maintenance preferred.
• Strong communication skills required for guest and co-worker interactions.
• Must be able to lift heavy loads
• Ability to implement and initiate necessary plans to ensure proper maintenance of grounds
• Basic computer knowledge and experience
