What you’ll be responsible for:
You will help protect Chicago's Jewish community by overseeing the grant process for security initiatives. In addition, you will assist local Jewish organizations with applying for and implementing grants to improve their physical security. Success in this role is a team effort, and you will work with an intelligent, experienced, mission-driven team of individuals who are helping Jews keep and feel safe from antisemitism.

What you’ll be doing:

• Take lead responsibility for the submission of grant proposals, reports, and budgets for all security-related programs (including Live Secure Chicago and security-related capital projects).
• Submitting and sustain grants, private funding, and government revenue.
• Work closely with JUF’s Security Department to implement key initiatives, including community communications and trainings for Jewish organizations interested in applying for federal and state security grant programs.
• Provide individualized support and technical assistance to local Jewish organizations interested in submitting grant proposals to available security funding opportunities and post-award reporting.
• Manage organizational follow-up from security assessments and audits performed by the JUF Security department.
• May provide grant writing support for other JUF programs based on capacity.
• Support JUF Campaign and mandatory campaign-related activities on an ongoing basis.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• 4+ years’ professional experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks, work under deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively
• Exceptional ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and work with senior staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products

• PREFERRED:

• Experience with grant writing, program development, or government grant writing particularly knowledge of FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), in both application and implementation process
• Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, traditions, and security topics

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
