Scope of Job
  • Handles social media pages strategically to grow traffic and customer engagement.
  • Assist with coordinating, shooting, editing, and distributing campaigns utilizing video content
  • Performs research on best practices, trends and audience preferences.
  • Implements social media strategy to align with organization’s goals.
  • Sets specific objectives and report on Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Generates, edits, publishes and shares engaging content daily in both English and or Spanish (e.g. original text, graphics, photos, videos and news) on social media and web pages.
  • Collaborates with the rest of the team to ensure organization’s brand consistency.
  • Communicates with organization’s social media and website followers, responds to queries in a timely manner and monitors customer reviews.
  • Oversees social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout).
  • Suggests and implements new features to develop organization’s brand awareness, like promotions and competitions.
  • Greets visitors and provides information to students, faculty, staff, and the general public regarding department services, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists with basic administrative functions of an office.
  • Organizes and maintains confidential files and records.
  • Provides supportive services to students.
  • Trains and provides support to staff and/or students in the use of software and hardware.
  • May provide assistance within a Help Desk setting focused on a specific task or subject matter.
  • Acts as reference source for questions/concerns relating to student activities or the UTRGV community.
  • May be required to assist with special projects, preparation of publications and/or newsletters, and planning of events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
  • Experience planning, filming, editing, and distributing video content is ideal
  • Must be up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Must have proven work experience working on a business social media page
  • Must have excellent copy-writing skills
  • Must possess the ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video) Knowledge of online marketing channels
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to think creatively
  • Must have excellent soft skills and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess analytical and multitasking skills
  • Must be detail – oriented and organized
  • Must maintain a professional image
  • Bilingual is a plus
