Apple’s Global Security Operations team is seeking outstanding customer service and self-motivated people to work as Customer Service and Safety (CSS) Specialists. CSS Specialists provide 24/7/365 security coverage and support to employees, customers, and properties throughout the Santa Clara Valley. The ideal Specialist will have an extraordinary work ethic, a willingness to hold others and themselves accountable, a desire to be part of a growing team and connect with a diverse group of individuals! While a security background is helpful, we will strongly consider individuals from any other professions.
Key Qualifications
- Customer Service experience is preferred
- Flexibility to work various shifts in a 24/7/365 operation and ability to work overtime when needed
- Must be able to possess and maintain BSIS PSO License (training will be provided)
- Dependable, reliable, hardworking and has a drive for results
- Ability to work with a sense of purpose and exercise good judgment, even in stressful situations
- Thrives on a team where expertise is shared and feedback is welcomed
- This is a physical job that requires Specialists to work in a number of different environments and terrains as well as frequent travel between Apple buildings and/or campuses.
Description
The ideal person must possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to build trust-based relationships with key partners inside and outside of Global Security. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with questions, directions, and general inquiries from employees or visitors Provide visible patrol presence ensuring safety to employees, customers, visitors, and Apple properties Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic first aid, CPR, and AED as certified Conduct exterior door checks to ensure doors are secure and functioning properly Conduct exterior building checks for glass breaks, maintenance issues or hazards Ensure that all necessary equipment (including radios, bikes, and vehicles) and accessories are in operating condition. This requires regular inspection of equipment to ensure serviceability. Work with Apple employees at special events, such as product launches, shareholder meetings, communications meetings, and other events that require safety and security support Participate in daily briefings to receive updated information in preparation of shift Communicate effectively with all levels of management Physical and Environmental Factors - Individuals in this role need to be able to: Successfully complete required onboarding training, including CPR, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use, vehicle training, [other] Operate a variety of equipment and tools, including driving vehicles, operating bikes or other alternative methods of travel (if adopted), and using telephones, security systems, computer or workstation keyboards, and hand-held equipment (such as a radio, iPad, cell phone, etc.) Perform repetitive actions such as standing at a static post, getting in and out of a vehicle, using hand-held radio equipment and flashlight, writing/typing reports, and carrying safety equipment including cones, medical bags, etc. Operate vehicle, bike, or alternative methods of travel in a safe and prudent manner In addition, you will be exposed to the following environments while performing their duties: Exposure to computer screens Temperature controlled environment while indoors Inclement weather to include heat/cold, rain and wind (both while driving and outside of a vehicle) Possibility of personal danger, including armed and/or dangerous people, fire and medical situations, and other hazards associated with natural and man-made disasters
Education & Experience
High School diploma (or GED) required. College or equivalent professional experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Possess/maintain a valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record for the last three years, and maintain driving privileges per Apple policy
