TSPi Position Description

We are looking for a GIS Developer to provide development support to our government clients who use our GIS services, maps and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Working with ESRI Enterprise, GIS data, ArcPro and ESRI python libraries and scripting
• Responsible for reviewing requirements to help design, unit test, and deploy solutions

• Design and develop functional and responsive web applications communicating with REST API backends using Agular, React or similar technologies
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data and service publication into the GIS infrastructure
• Works with Architects to ensure the architecture of the delivered solution matches customer technical and functional requirements
• Understand the business needs and implements solutions to enable the desired capabilities
• Collaborates with teams on progress and issues of applications

• Ensures that solutions delivered have an excellent customer experience, are secure and scalable and comply with best practices and open standards
• Look for ways to utilize modern technologies to solve business problems including but not limited to automation
• Stays abreast of external trends and new functionality to be released by third party/cloud solutions, identifying and socializing opportunities for expanded business applicability
• Ensures application solution conforms to contractual quality attributes such as performance, fault tolerance, etc.
• Supports implementation of Technology Roadmap and related backlog prioritization, planning, and execution to manage architectural uncertainties

• Evaluates technical impacts from and coordinates new product releases
• Participates in sizing and estimation activities with the agile team

Required Skills/Experience

• 3+ years technical working or other relevant industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (GIS, engineer, natural sciences)

• Must have hands on experience with Python
• Must have experience with ESRI Enterprise products and Infrastructure
• Preferred experience with MS SQL Server, model builder and batch processing
• Experience in web development, Agular/React, Javascript, CSS, >NET Core or NodeJS and REST
• Proficient use of ESRI desktop applications including ArcGIS Pro

• Preferred experience with Lidar Datasets and extensions, Mosaic Datasets and Imagery Datasets
• Preferred experience working with Microsoft technology stack, C#, PostGreSQL
• Preferred experience with AWS and GIS solutions in a cloud environment
• Understanding of requirements and key concepts such as redundancy, scalability, and reusability.
• Strong analytical abilities

• Proficient in Agile development/methodologies, Test Automation and TDD, CI/CD, DevOps
• High focus on quality; holds self and others to high standards of delivery
• Excellent oral, written and remote communication skills and tools
• Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust
