Position Summary

The role of the General Manager is to provide hands- on strategic and operational oversight for the processing plant. Will be accountable for upholding the highest standards aligned to safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and financial performance. The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility from production to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Will be responsible for maximizing stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. Will be responsible for demonstrating leadership that reflects Fayman’s culture and values

Essential Functions

· Oversee day to day facility operations, including ensuring equipment is in safe working order and that all Federal, State and Local regulations are properly followed, including relevant USDA regulations

· Work cross-functionally across all departments and levels to resolve business challenges to proactively prevent operational delays and meet future growth plans

· Design and execute business growth and management plans.

· Monitor and maximize productivity and efficiency in all areas while maintaining safe work practices

· Foster an environment of lean/continuous improvement and champion a culture of customer-centric behaviors and problem solving to maintain positive customer relationships

· Provide direct management of and partnership with key functional personnel in each department, including facilitating cross-functional collaboration and ensuring alignment with business objectives

· Partner with the HR department and functional leads to ensure appropriate recruitment, staffing, training, cross-training and development across all departments and employees

· Oversee the execution of all production to ensure highest quality of handling, processing, and storage of materials to ensure compliance with regulations, customer satisfaction and mitigate cross-contamination

· Manage production schedules and priorities for production of goods, including resource requirements based on production volume

· Maintain budgets and optimize expenses.

· Review and implement policies and processes in partnership with key functional leads

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Strong professional with charismatic personality and a solid pedigree and experience in setting up and running a food processing facility

· Superb management skills with ability to manage and motivate a wide variety of employees from diverse backgrounds in a professional and compelling manner.

· Problem solving and creative thinking skills with the ability to get results in unstructured environments, solid record of accomplishment for growing businesses and implementing processes, policies, and best practices.

· Self-assured, internally motivated, and passionate individual with outstanding communication skills, driven to succeed and make a difference.

· Must possess high levels of integrity, resilience, accountability, commitment, and determination.

· Good understanding of data metrics and the ability to present these to the senior management and play a key role in supporting decision-making

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Animal Science, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field, preferred.

· Five (5) years general manager or head of operations experience in the food processing industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

· Thorough knowledge of USDA, FDA, OSHA, and BRC / SQF requirements.

Supervision Exercised

· Supervises department leadership. Reports to the Managing Director.
