About the Position

The General Manager is responsible for both strategic planning and oversight of the day-to-day operations. The GM will act as liaison with our museum partner, and ensure each guest has an exceptional Bean Sprouts experience.

The General Manager leads and directs all aspects of the Café including:

• Creating a positive and playful environment for team members and guests
• Growing sales and managing costs
• Managing the business unit’s profit and loss statement and budget planning
• Hiring, training and ongoing development
• Scheduling and labor management
• Maintaining a positive relationship with our museum partner
• Ordering and inventory oversight
• Ensuring exceptional preparation and presentation of all menu items
• Maintaining compliance with all food safety standards and applicable regulations

Qualifications:

• Solution oriented with a positive attitude
• Strong leadership skills and experience with training and development
• 3-5 years of progressive restaurant/café experience including at least one year of full-time general management experience (supervising the whole business unit, including Profit & Loss responsibility)
• Excellent customer service skills; demonstrated sales building, training and basic computer skills
• Culinary training or hands-on experience in the kitchen
• ServSafe or equivalent food handler's permit (if you don't have one, we will help you get one!)
• Be able to reach, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds and work in a standing position for long periods of time with or without accommodation
