As a condition of employment with the State of Hawaii, some positions may require that all qualified external candidates who have been given a conditional offer of employment must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and shall be fully vaccinated by his/her/their employment start date. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancies and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
Perform a variety of semi-skilled manual work tasks involved in road, building, and other maintenance projects, or refuse collection work involving continuous heavy physical labor as a major work assignment; and perform other related duties as assigned.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Experience and Training: ONE YEAR of manual unskilled and/or semi-skilled work experience in general construction and/or maintenance; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
Lift and Carry: Some positions require the ability to lift and carry objects of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation. The immediate vacancy requires the ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and 75 pounds assisted by another person and/or use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck).
