Responsibilities:

The General Assembler/Shop Assistant is responsible for assisting department leads with producing or assembling subassemblies (e.g. panels & extrusions), custom transport refrigerators, and truck bodies in a production environment. Specifically, you will perform the following functions:

• Deburr extrusions, sand or grind metal pieces, load and unload fixtures, spray adhesive and assist with lifting
• Help prepare subassemblies (e.g. panel lamination) for final assembly
• Assist with fabrication and final assembly of various models and sizes of commercial truck bodies per work orders
• Assist with fabrication and final assembly of various models and sizes of commercial transport refrigerators per work orders
• Maintain quality levels by following assembly standards, conducting in-process and final inspections, and documenting and correcting deficiencies
• Read prints, cut sheets, and work instructions and take or read measurements
• Position and clamp together components for fabrication using prescribed fixtures and templates
• Operate grinders, drills, and a variety of power tools and industrial shop equipment
• Other general production tasks as may be assigned from time to time

Job requirements

• 3 years experience in a production environment (preferred)
• 3 years assembly or fabrication experience, including the use of shop tools (preferred)
• Ability to read a tape measure (required)
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions and prints (required)
• Solid work ethic - show up on time every day, advance notice for missing work, minimal non-productive time (eg excessive phone use), work well with others
• Preferably within a 30-minute commute of Lithia Springs
• Able to pass a background check and a drug screening
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
