Madison Fire Department is currently hiring one Full-Time Paramedic/Firefighter
(EMT/Firefighters will be considered) . Shift schedule is a 24-day work period: 48 hours on/96 hours off.
Lateral candidates: starting salary and vacation accrual will be considered based on years of experience with a comparable, career agency, written test not required, physical test not required (if comparable has been achieved)

PARAMEDIC/FIREFIGHTER: $50,520—$74,784/year DOE
EMT/FIREFIGHTER: $43,186—$63,924/year DOE

Madison Fire Department provides EMS, fire, and rescue to all of Madison County (population over 53,000), which includes the cities of Rexburg and Sugar City; and Brigham Young University—Idaho in Rexburg. We are a Critical Care ambulance service, providing assistance to surrounding counties in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. We have a robust wildland fire program, where we send fire and EMS apparatus and personnel all over the western US during the wildland fire season.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Eligible to work in the US
• Pass drug test, background checks and physical tests
• Valid Driver’s License
• NREMT Paramedic, ACLS, PALS; and AHA BLS CPR
• NFPA Firefighter I accredited by IFSAC or equivalent
• NFPA Hazardous Materials Operations accredited by IFSAC or equivalent
• NWCG FFT2 (Basic Wildland Firefighter) (within 6 months)
• Driver/Operator accredited by IFSAC (within 1 year)
• Must live within a 15-minute drive time of one of our three stations (period of time given for relocation)
