SUMMARY

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty is looking for a dynamic, experienced bookkeeper/accountant. This is a full-time position located in Londonderry NH at our main office. The successful candidate will report to the Company Controller

The Successful candidate will:

  • Post vendor invoices and prepare payments and checks as required
  • Deposit receipts and post as required.
  • Review purchase and sales agreements and summaries on pending submittal forms and enter information into Real Estate accounting software.
  • Bill agents for fees and process credit card charges for fees.
  • Process closed transactions and issue payments and transfer funds as required
  • Purchase supplies as authorized by management
  • Review and approve satellite locations office supply purchases
  • Issue purchase orders as needed and reconcile with accounts payable
  • Issue agent checks and payments and process closed files daily
  • Process new agent paperwork and enter into the required systems.
  • Process terminated agent paperwork and enter into the required systems
  • Post transactions into related party accounting records.
  • Maintain spreadsheets on a timely basis for agent lists, licenses, board memberships, licensing and others
  • Maintain the petty cash fund.
  • Assist with month end and year end close, including determining accruals
  • Complete projects given daily and weekly from the Controller including but not limited to printing, filing, copying, scanning, faxing, creating e-mails or direct mail
  • Assist in reconciling ledgers, reports and accounting records.
  • Other activities that are normally performed in the accounting department
  • Other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 3-5 years of relative bookkeeping and accounting experience
  • Must be accurate, reliable and trustworthy
  • Real Estate accounting experience a plus
  • Must be immediate and responsive on a timely basis
  • Must be detail oriented and possess organizational skills to be able to handle multiple tasks throughout the day with changing priorities and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills are required along with a positive attitude and committed to achieving company goals
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Problem solver
  • Be competent and accountable
  • Sincere, patient and perseverant
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule work to be completed.
  • Possess the ability to interact respectfully with others
