Job Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Medical Office Manager, the Medical Receptionist provides exceptional customer service, to include courteous, helpful, accurate and proactive communication and problem solving for patients to ensure that their health care is provided in the most effective and timely manner possible. Will schedule and confirm patient appointments provide the clinic’s daily communication and reception support for patients in person or by phone. This position is essential for accurate data entry regarding patient demographics and insurance.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with six (6) months experience as receptionist/clerk preferable in the medical setting.
- Achieve the Certified Enrollment Counselor Certificate within three months of hire.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills, positive attitude, and be a team player.
- Must be a motivated and compassionate individual who is ready to anticipate patient’s anxieties, answer patients’ questions, maintain the workflow of the reception area, and actively inform patients of any potential delays or wait times for their appointments.
- Able to serve as a Patient Services Specialist back-up as needed to assistant in the new patient enrollment process.
- Basic interviewing skills for the purpose of gathering information and explaining policies or clarifying information as needed as well as maintaining confidentiality of all patients, and employee information.
- Achieve the Certified Enrollment Counselor Certificate within three months of hire.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and SCIHP background investigation and Covered California background investigation.
- Must have proof of completed COVID vaccinations and annual Flu vaccine.
Special Qualifications: Must be sensitive to the needs of the Native American Community, which includes their culture, traditions, and background.
