If you’ve answered yes to these questions, please apply to Gemma Services! Gemma’s Foster Care Program is currently seeking a Case Worker to become part of a dynamic team. The Foster Care program delivers a trauma informed model of care. The caseworker provides services to foster children, treatment families, and legal families in order to work toward remediation of emotional and behavioral concerns. The position is hybrid, work is from your home or agency offices and direct services provided in home and community-based settings primarily throughout Philadelphia and Delaware County.

Job Specifics: Provides supervision and psychoeducation to the treatment family to support their understanding of the child’s needs and strengths, safe management of child’s risk behaviors, and provision of daily interventions. The case worker will also provide direct interventions as therapeutically warranted; identifies treatment issues, goals, and measurable objectives and action steps to be used for each child. Trains children and their caregivers in the skills of stress management, affect identification and expression, and correcting cognitive distortions. Acts as lead resource to provide emergency and crisis intervention services as crises arise; assesses child’s safety and stability in the placement setting and arranges for appropriate additional assessments or changes in placement location where indicated. Meets weekly with supervisor to review each child's, families, and treatment parent(s)' adjustments, problems, and progress; discusses plans for service/ treatment interventions; provides follow-through on action steps developed. Participates in on-call coverage for Foster Family Care/Host Home as scheduled.


Requirements:
A B.S. or B.A. degree in a human service field; Master’s degree strongly preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of related experience normally required, including prior experience working with children and families. Knowledge of office operations; proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office software, and Electronic Medical Records Systems.

Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with sensitivity with clients, families, office staff, and external parties.
