Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and prepares for meals by using good timing skills to ensure that foods are finished to the closest serving time for all of the dining areas, assisting in all areas of the Food Service Department as needed, and effectively communicating with the Sous Chef and Production Manager
- Consistently services qualities products by following and extending recipes, and recording breakfast, lunch, and dinner food temperatures in the kitchen temperature log book at the beginning, middle, and end of each shift
- Ensuring that all foods are displayed attractively and that they are garnished
- Ensures that the department is ready to serve as scheduled by making staff adjustments as needed and enforcing the uniform policy with all staff
- Ensures that all food is prepped for the next day by following the production sheet and catering sheet, and marking the sheets with products that are completed
- Prepares for special meals and catering functions by completing work in advance or assigned for special functions
- Maintains food costs by utilizing leftovers creatively, serving foods portioned correctly, and checking all incoming supplies in reference to invoices (and reporting any discrepancies)
- Labeling and dating all foods
- Keeping Production Manager informed of problems or needs
- Assists with kitchen and scheduling needs by covering days off for coworkers as needed
- Maintains department sanitation by assuring equipment used during shift is properly cleaned and sanitized before clocking out
- Protects the assets of the kitchen and the department by locking boxes and doors
- Attending daily production meetings and discussing/reporting any problems

Qualifications*:
- Must be able to follow and give written and oral instructions
- Must have three years of cooking experience
- Must be able to work evenings and every other weekend
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Must be clean, neat, and well groomed
