Join the Redford Township Fire Department ! Looking for hard working, dedicated Firefighter/Paramedics who are looking for a challenging and rewarding career!

The Charter Township of Redford and the Redford Township Police and Fire Civil Service Commission are accepting applications for the position of full-time Entry-Level Firefighter.

Starting salary is $57,038, with step increases the first four years.

$3000 Academy Reimbursement After Successful Completion of Probation. (New Hires Only)

• Both optical and dental coverage is provided.

• We also offer defined benefit retirement.

• Defined benefit pension with 2.25% multiplier after 25 years.

• In addition there are 13 paid holidays, and up to $2250 tuition reimbursement per year.

Wages 57,038 - 83,611 plus competitive benefits. We do offer lateral incentives for up to (5) years

Minimum Age 18

Valid Driver's License

No alcohol/drug conviction within last 5 years of application date

Firefighter I & II certificates from a State of Michigan certified Fire Academy

EMPCO registration and completed firefighter written exam within one year of application date

Valid CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) or OPAT (Oakland Physical Ability Test)completed and on file by date of hire

Able to successfully pass a post-offer departmental criminal, civil and background investigation to the satisfaction of the department

Able to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment physical and drug screen, and psychological examination

An employee in this class, upon employment, will be required to enter into and successfully complete all necessary training, including in-service training with Redford Township Fire Department and other schools to which the employee may be assigned. All employees shall receive such further training as shall be deemed necessary by the Redford Township Fire Department or mandated by the State of Michigan or United States Government

Additional licenses/certifications that are desired are:

Paramedic license valid in the State of Michigan
