What does a Financial Services Professional do?

Financial Services Professionals provide advice to help individuals manage their finances and plan for their financial future.

• Meet with clients in-person to discuss their financial goals

• Help clients create a budget and plan for specific circumstances, such as education expenses or retirement

• Monitor clients’ accounts and determine if changes are needed to improve financial performance or to accommodate life changes, such as getting married or having children

• Explain the types of financial services they provide to potential clients

• Educate clients and answer questions about investment and insurance options and potential risks

• Recommend investments and insurance to clients

You should have:

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships

• Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external clients

• Entrepreneurial attitude with keen negotiation, business acumen, and problem-solving skills

• Strong organization and time management skills, able to multi-task and manage projects

• Ability to work independently as a self-starter; committed to delivering the highest in client service, quality, and results

• Expert with top-notch client relationship management capabilities

• The ability to embrace change in support of the business unit’s and company’s goals

• Professional demeanor and a positive attitude is a must
