Provides advanced financial analytics, forecasting, decision support, benchmarking and financial reporting to support business decisions and evaluate potential implications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides decision support and benchmarking through financial modeling, business case analysis, and financial/management reporting to support strategic and tactical business decisions. Evaluates financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities, and advises management accordingly to ensure targeted financial performance achievement.
- Provides clear and controlled financial reporting and analysis, which includes but is not limited to financial planning, forecasting and budgeting to anticipate change and drive decisions. Provides in-depth analysis on variances to the plan and forecast, and collaborates with others to coordinate the forecasting process.
- Provides analysis and decision support for new product development (i.e. JO Rocket process) through financial modeling and reporting. (varies by business unit).
- Completes annual external reporting requirements, and collaborates with leadership to increase efficiencies in the process.
- Acts as the expert on business intelligence reporting. Makes improvements in how data is managed in systems and ensures data consistency. Develops, maintains, and provides reports and analysis and ensures these are used consistently.
- Identifies and implements the continuous improvement of systems, tools, and finance methodologies, and shares business and financial best practices.
- Gathers, analyzes, and summarizes data for complex financial projects.
- Leads, maintains and enhances the system of internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial information in accordance with company policy and regulations (varies by business unit).
- Serves as the primary contact for external auditors, coordinates the annual benefits plan audit and preparation of benefits financial statements (varies by business unit).
- Assists in the regional monthly closing process for the business unit (varies by business unit).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting business or equivalent.
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of finance and accounting experience, including progressively responsible financial analysis and planning experience in a manufacturing or consumer product environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong financial planning, analysis and forecasting skills and experience.
- Knowledge and skills in decision support, financial benchmarking, modeling and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop business cases and influence leaders at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong financial systems experience, and experience with JDE, Business Objects, Business Warehouse, or similar systems.
- Demonstrated ability to function in a highly-matrixed structure across functional, business, geographic and cultural boundaries.
- Self-driven and able to work independently.
