Macmillan is looking to add 2 new Financial Analysts to support our Trade Finance & Business Management teams! For each team, we are seeking a detail-oriented professional who is knowledgeable in budgets, forecasting & other FP&A industry practices.

Reporting into the Director of Finance, each role will perform month-end reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. These roles will provide financial, analytical, and operational support to their respective teams. There will also be an initial focus on assisting with the implementation of process improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency.

FA for Trade Finance:

  • Perform the month-end close process, including the determination of accruals needed, analysis of allocations, and analysis of direct overhead expenses.
  • Help develop, communicate and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts and will conduct analysis to assist business partners in assessing the financial impact of business decisions
  • Distribute monthly/quarterly summaries of profitability vs budget, forecast, and last year. Identify key drivers of performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for the finance leadership team in preparation for the bi-annual board meetings.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes whenever possible.
  • Assist in KPI (key performance indicator) collection and reporting.
  • Maintain projection models for Trade Finance.
  • Identify and implement forecast and budget process efficiencies.
  • Assist the trade finance team in developing and maintaining financial models and methodology for planning purposes.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision making at the company.

FA for Business Management:

  • Perform the month-end close process, including sales reporting, determining necessary accruals, and expense reporting.
  • Review expense coding for our publishers, and help editorial, marketing, and publicity teams manage costs.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for the finance leadership team in preparation for the bi-annual board meetings.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes whenever possible.
  • Help manage and review financial planning models.
  • Load and audit results for accuracy and consistency.
  • Pull together reporting on results.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision making at the company.

What you'll bring:

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial reporting systems. SAP reporting tools (AO & EPM) experience a plus.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting processes and profitability analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for dealing with business partners and internal stakeholders
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multitask, Critical thinking and problem solving skills are required.

Ideal Experience/Education:

  • 3+ years of experience in forecasting, financial analysis or related field.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Excel VBA,
  • Bachelor’s degree (finance, accounting, or data analytics preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivots, formulas, charts), working knowledge of SQL, Google suite of applications (Sheets & Slides)
  • Experience in the Publishing Industry is a plus.

Salary range for these roles is $67-75k.
